About the Fellowship


Mission


The mission of The Renaissance Fellowship Initiative is to acquaint children with great minds, thoughts and deeds in human history.

Target Age

The target age group is 10 to 14 year olds

Eligibility

The Initiative will be open to all school children enrolled in public, private, and charter schools or undergoing home schooling.

Program Flow 
  • The program will last 6 weeks, from mid-July to the end of August 
  • It will focus on selected readings ranging from short stories to excerpts of famous books
  • The fellows will also write about the weekly readings; these writings will be published online in Secretbuilders' online magazine
  • All participants will attend weekly "virtual seminars" held in the Fellowship Lounge every Thursday at 1pm PST. these virtual seminars will be in a talk show format and will feature a fictional or historical character from that week's readings
  • Fellows will also complete a uniquely creative project as part of the program 

Syllabus


The purpose of The Renaissance Fellowship Initiative is the early exposure to great ideas and minds in human history. The program syllabus includes a selection of readings of children’s classics, paraphrased excerpts of other literature, as well as select biographies of writers, artists, musicians, scientists and philosophers.

Seminars


All participants will attend weekly "virtual seminars" held in SecretBuilders every Wednesday at 10:30 am and 4:00 pm PST. These virtual seminars will be in a talk show format and will feature a fictional or historical character. Participants will get to know and interact with these famous personalities.
